The special sniping rifle is intended
for noiseless and flameless shooting at a range of up to 400
m. The rifle is supplied with an optical sight, and night sighting
device may be mounted if it is necessary.
Automatic reloading is based on the recoil energy of powder
gases discharging from the barrel bore into the gas chamber.
The firing and trigger mechanism of a striker type allows delivering
both single-shot fire and automatic fire.
Design features of the rifle:
- the original design of the barrel gives the opportunity to
achieve high parameters in the accuracy of fire and closely-grouped
fire;
- subsonic speed of a bullet and its high hitting effect;
- the silencer as a compulsory part of the rifle ensures noiseless
and flameless shooting, the design of a silencer makes it possible
to use it without replacement during the operational life of
the weapon;
- the rifle is quickly stripped in three parts, this makes it
comfortable to carry (in a special bag or case);
- the presence of safeties makes the rifle safe in handling
and prevents a shot if the trigger is accidentally squeezed,
when the rifle is dropped or shocked or when the barrel bore
is not locked.
The presence of a detachable double-column sector-type magazine
with the cartridges located in chess-board order and interchangeable
with magazines of the AS and SR-3 articles is the advantage
of this sniping rifle.
The 9-mm snipping cartridge SP5 and the 9-mm armour-piercing
cartridge SP6 are used for shooting. |
